What length to have my wedding dress hemmed?
I’ve had my wedding dress for a few months now, and I’m getting married in 16 days!
I’m visiting a seamstress to hem it for me, I haven’t had it done before as I didn’t have my shoes yet. Now that I have a nice pair of white heels with a two inch heel, and I also have some white ballet flat style shoes for later just in case my feet get sore.
Should I have it hemmed for how it would be with me in flats, as the difference in heels wouldn’t be that big of a deal?
It’s a simple dress, not poofy or layered, just a simple white gown that is very flowy (Think white dress that Marilyn Monroe wore but floor length, or a greek goddess style gown). Right now with the hells an extra two inches or so drape on the floor.
I just don’t want to trip, or be uncomfortable when I dance. What do you guys recommend?
Take both pair of shoes to the seamstress and explain to her what you want to do, she will be able to advise you and show you at the same time how it would look to work with both pair of shoes. Good Luck!
